1946 - 2004

Known in the industry as "HVAC's Million Dollar Salesman", Tom McCart was a long-time friend and respected business colleague. There were many highs and lows in Tom McCart's life; some of the highs included being the first HVAC Residential Replacement Salesman to sell $1,000,000 in a single year (and he did it in his first year in business), being the first recipient of the Service Roundtable "Servant Leader" Award, being the first recipient of the Contracting Business "Thomas R. 'Doc' Rusk" Award, founder of "No Secrets Training System" and President of No Secrets, Inc., a HVAC training and consulting firm.

Tom was also author of several publications: Selling HVAC Replacement to Homeowners, The Selling Script Book, Tom McCart's Forms Manual, Demand Service Operations Manual, 240+ Low-Cost Target Marketing Ideas, Service Agreement Start-Up Manual, Legal Tell-Marketing for the 21st Century, and Tom McCart's Software for Creating Your Own Residential Equipment Price Book. MrHVAC was honored to carry Tom McCart's product line and still offers Tom McCart products today through their sister company, Aptora Corporation.

Tom was a Member of the following organizations: Sons of the American Revolution, Contracting Business Magazine Editorial Advisory Board, Service Roundtable Consult & Coach Partner, Service Roundtable Crusader, and volunteer for the Dale Carnegie Sales Course Series.

Unfortunately, some of the lows in Tom's life included a bout with polio that left him unable to walk between the ages of two through five, a serious auto accident shortly after setting his record-breaking year as "HVAC's Million Dollar Salesman", a heart attack in 2001 and lastly being diagnosed in 2002 with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS), commonly known as Lou Gehrig's disease, combined with being diagnosed and treated for throat cancer in 2003. Tom was never one to complain about his condition, and he refused to let negativity of any kind affect his enthusiasm, positive attitude and zest for life.

Tom was a truly remarkable man in both the business industry and in the way he lived his life. His character, courage, sensitivity and nobleness have contributed to the legend he has become and we will miss him very much.
