Software Programmer – Brief Overview

Aptora is award winning software company. We are expanding and need a software programmer with extensive experience using VB6, Dot Net, SQL Server, and Access. Crystal Reports or accounting experience gives you a huge advantage. We are conveniently located in Lenexa. Aptora pays its family of employees well and we have never had a layoff. This is a permanent full time position located in Lenexa KS. Hours are flexible. Education and Knowledge

1. Bachelors degree in related discipline or equivalent work experience is preferred.

2. FIVE YEARS working knowledge of Visual Basic and/or dot net.

3. THREE YEARS working knowledge of Microsoft SQL SERVER is required (stored procedures development included).

4. THREE YEARS working knowledge of Microsoft Access is required.

5. THREE YEARS working knowledge of SQL Server is required.

6. THREE YEARS working knowledge of Microsoft operating systems including XP and Windows 2000 Server.

7. Some working knowledge of Microsoft Vista.

8. Knowledge of Crystal Reports is strongly desired but not required.

9. Knowledge of accounting applications would give you a major advantage.

10. Strong analytical and problem solving skills required.

11. Requires Interpersonal and English language skills sufficient to interact effectively with both internal and external customers, clients and vendors.

12. Possess basic office skills sufficient to meet production and quality standards.

13. Ability to handle multiple projects with rapidly changing priorities and deadlines.

14. Ability to interact with, and accept direction from, multiple managers and clients.

15. Ability to work independently under general supervision is required.  

Duties and Responsibilities

Perform duties required for application design and implementation for moderately complex computer systems including:

1. Design, code, unit test, and document application programs for moderately complex computer systems.

2. Work with users to define system scope and objectives.

3. Maintain source code control and security using established procedures and following company policy.

4. Carefully document file designs and program logic.

5. Analyze system and programming logic and make revisions.

6. Program clear and concise solutions to described problems.

7. Maintain project status documentation.

8. Provide technical support to both internal and external clients.

9. Participate in software inspection process.

10. Participate and assist in technical training.

11. Working knowledge of project management using a life cycle methodology is strongly desired.

12. You may be asked to assist in definition, planning and management of projects and supporting personnel.
