Our powerful Caller ID Server is a program in itself. This program runs on a single computer that may be connected to your other computers through a network.
You simply plug your incoming telephone lines into this device and connect it to your computer through a common serial cable. Installation is fast and easy.
For this feature to work, obviously you're going to need Caller ID from your local phone company. An optional piece of hardware is also required. It is called a Caller ID Receiver. They are $999.00. You only need one of these units for your entire network. Each unit supports up to eight incoming telephone lines.
When the telephone rings, Total Office Manager® users are notified of the incoming call. If the caller is on file, a click of a button will take you to their record. A complete log is kept of each call including time and date, telephone line number, phone number, and caller name (if available).
Have you ever filled out one of those little pieces of paper that says "While You Were Out"? Well, actually they are great. Trouble is, sometimes they don't get handed to the people who need them. Or coworkers don't use them; instead they use a scrap of paper that can easily get lost. We have included a Phone Message feature that looks like those message pads but these don't get lost. Anyone can fill them out and they appear on the correct person's screen.
Total Office Manager makes it easy to send phone numbers or full text messages to pagers and cellular phones.
